U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, who holds the record for the most petition signatures ever filed by a U.S. Senate candidate in New Jersey, has filed 10,352 signatures on his 2018 petitions – more than ten times what they law requires.
“The overwhelming response from voters in all 21 counties shows the breadth and depth of support for Senator Menendez,” said campaign chairman Michael Soliman. “Let there be no doubt — New Jersey’s got his back.”
Menendez, 64, is seeking his third full term in the U.S. Senate. He is the ranking minority member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Republican front-runner Bob Hugin filed petitions with 1,569 signatures. Another GOP candidate, Antonio Sabas, had filed 1,090 signatures on his petitions.
Three other announced candidates have not yet filed: Republicans Brian Goldberg and Dana Wefer, and Democrat Mitchell Horn.
