Rik Mehta has won the Salem County Republican organization line, defeating Hirsh Singh by a vote of 21 to 15 to win his 12th county GOP endorsement.
Mehta led Singh 18 to 13 in the first ballot, with five for Natalie Rivera.
Tricia Flanagan, who was invited to address the convention delegates, was a no-show.
The winner of the Republican primary is expected to face incumbent Cory Booker.
A former U.S. Food and Drug Administration official, Mehta has won endorsements in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Monmouth, Passaic, Somerset, Union and Warren counties.
Singh won the Ocean County Republican convention last week.
The organization line for Congress in Salem County will go to Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis). Van Drew’s primary opponent, former Trump administration official Robert Patterson, is not contesting party conventions.
