Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes) now leads Republican Tom Kean, Jr. by 4,549 votes after picking up 87 additional votes in Morris County on Saturday.
Malinowski now lead Kean, 209,405 to 204,856, 50.5% to 49.5% after 1,177 more vote-by-mail ballots were tabulated.
Earlier today, Malinowski gained 123 votes from 157 hand-counted overseas ballots in Morris.
More provisional ballots will be counted in Morris tonight and on Sunday.
The Union County Clerk said today there will be no new election results tonight. An updated tally will be available on Sunday.
This is the second day where Malinowski has seen his lead increase over Kean, the minority leader of the New Jersey State Senate.
Malinowski who unseated five-term Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton Township) in 2018, was in front of Kean by 28,412 votes on election night.
The 7th district had been held by Republicans from 1956 until Malinowski ousted Lance two years ago by 16,200 votes, 51.7% to 46.7%.
