Rep. Tom MacArthur has over a million dollars in his warchest as he prepares for his re-election campaign against Andy Kim, a former Obama White House staffer.
MacArthur, raised $210,226 during the first three months of the year, and has cash-on-hand of $1,088,365. He spent $127,698 during the first quarter and has a debt of $706,272 – nearly all of it to himself for loans he’s made to his previous congressional campaigns.
The two-term Republican congressman has the ability to self-fund his race against Kim, like he did when he moved from Morris County to run for Jon Runyan’s open seat in 2014.
Kim has not yet filed his first quarter reports.
