Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) still has more than $4 million in his campaign account after outspending former Cresskill Councilman John McCann three-to-one.
Gottheimer raised $7,002,979 and spent $2,952,240 during his 2018 campaign, according to post-election reports filed with the Federal Elections Commission.
The incumbent spent $17.41 for each of his 169,546 votes.
McCann reported raising $937,522 and spending $932,160. That means he spent $7.27 for each of his 128,255 votes.
Those spending figures do not include independent expenditures made for or against either candidate, nor do they include spending made by candidates’ political action committees.
The biggest difference between the finances of the two is that Gottheimer finished the campaign with $4,143,387 banked, while McCann had just $5,366 on hand.
