Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) has $8.9 million cash-on-hand after spending roughly $11.7 million of his congressional warchest on his bid for the Democratic nomination for governor.

The money went to a series of political action committees that were boosting his gubernatorial campaign.

The five-term congressman had about $20.6 million in his account when he launched his statewide race.  He had reported raising $258,000 for his congressional race during the first three months of this year.  Gottheimer raised approximately $50,000 in the second quarter of 2025.

Gottheimer was re-elected by over eleven percentage points in his bid for re-election in New Jersey’s 5th district in 2024.  He defeated Republican Mary Jo Guinchard by 43,072 votes; Guinchard has announced that she would run again next year.

There is an additional $600,000 remaining in his leadership PAC.

The nearly $9 million remaining in his warchest offers Gottheimer a significant cushion as he prepares to seek a sixth term in Congress in 2026.
