Former federal judge dies

Eugene Pugliese, a retired federal immigration judge, passed away om January 16.  He was 66.  Pugliese served as chief counsel to the House Subcommittee on Immigration for sixteen years before joining the Department of Justice.  He was a resident of Clifton.

Robert M. Smith, a longtime Montvale councilman and fire commissioner, passed away on January 11.  He was 88.  He served in the U.S. Air Force and as a volunteer fireman.

Ruth Wilson, a member of the South Brunswick Republican Club for many years, died on January 10.  She was 83.
