Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tricia Flanagan said she plans to bracket with congressional candidates Robert Patterson in the 2nd district and John Novak in the 3rd.
Patterson, a former Trump administration official, is challenging Democrat-turned-Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis) in the primary. Novak, the mayor of Barnegat, is seeking the seat held by freshman Rep. Andy Kim (D-Marlton).
The move helps all three avoid a sort of ballot Siberia.
Van Drew is running on the organization line in all eight counties in his district. He’ll be bracketed with Hirsh Singh in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Ocean counties, and with Rik Mehta in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties.
In the 3rd district primary, David Richter and Singh have the organization line in Ocean County, while Kate Gibbs is on the Burlington line with Mehta.
Singh told the New Jersey Globe that he plans to bracket with Richter in Burlington.
