U.S. Senator Cory Booker has an astronomical $22.2 million cash on hand after raising nearly $1.34 million in the second quarter of 2026 for his re-election campaign in New Jersey.

Booker, widely viewed as a potential presidential candidate in 2028, has raised a whopping $31.5 million since the end of his 2020 re-election bid.

He faces Republican Justin Murphy, a former deputy mayor of Tabernacle, in his bid for a third full term in the Senate.  He won a special election in 2013 following the death of incumbent Frank Lautenberg and was re-elected in 2014 and 2020.  Booker’s 2.54 million votes in his last campaign set the record for the most votes ever received by a candidate for statewide office in New Jersey.

Booker spent over $1 million in April, May, and June, and has spent over $15 million since his last campaign.

Murphy has not yet filed his second quarter fundraising report; it is not due until tomorrow.

Republicans have not won a U.S. Senate seat in New Jersey since 1972.  Since then, 48 other states have elected a Republican senator; only Hawaii, in 1970, has gone longer.
