Kate Gibbs has won the endorsement of the Brick Township Republican Club, the second-largest block of club votes at next month’s Ocean County Republican convention.
The support of the influential club followed endorsements yesterday from freshman Assemblyman John Catalano, a former Brick councilman and immediate past Republican Club president, as well as two legislators from Toms River, State Sen. James Holzapfel and Assemblyman Greg McGuckin.
“Beyond a doubt, Kate Gibbs is the most qualified candidate running for the 3rd congressional district seat,” the Republican Club said in a statement released this morning. “Kate has spent a lot of time in Brick. We have gotten to know her and see first-hand her high energy and what she will bring to the table.”
Gibbs faces former Hill International CEO David Richter, Barnegat mayor John Novak and former Hainesport mayor Tony Porto in the NJ-3 Republican primary to face freshman Rep. Andy Kim (D-Marlton).
A former Burlington county freeholder director, Gibbs won a vote of the Ocean County GOP screening committee earlier this month.
Richter announced yesterday that he won the endorsement of the Stafford Conservative Republican Club.
“Kate’s experience as a freeholder of cutting taxes while creating services and as a leader in the building trades creating jobs, tells us she will fight for our district and go to Washington to support President Trump’s America First Agenda,” the Brick club statement said.
