Booker plans weekend campaign stops in Iowa

U.S. Sen. Cory Booker will host a slew of events in Iowa this Friday and Saturday, aiming to secure an early win in next year’s presidential primary contests.

On Saturday, Booker will hold events in Des Moines (Polk County), Ottumwa (Wapello County) and Indianola (Warren County). Hillary Clinton carried those three counties in the 2016 Iowa Caucus.

On Sunday, the presidential hopeful will in Ames (Story County), Waterloo (Black Hawk County) and Davenport (Scott County).

Sanders won those three counties in 2016.

The rip is Booker’s second to the state since he formally announced his presidential campaign in early February.
