Senator Cory Booker has named Kaitlin McGuinness, a Jersey Shore native who has been on Booker’s team since before he went to Washington, as his new deputy state director.
“Kaitlin has been a driving force in our office since her first day in 2013,” Booker said in a statement. “I’ve witnessed her dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to serving New Jersey over the past decade, and I have no doubt that she’s the right person to help lead our team. I am excited to see her bring her wealth of experience into her new role as Deputy State Director, and I know she will continue to be the advocate and champion our constituents need.”
McGuinness first began working for Booker as an intern and press assistant in his mayoral office back in 2013. When Booker was elected to the Senate that year, McGuinness followed him there, and has steadily risen through the ranks of his staff; before being named deputy state director, she was the senator’s senior projects specialist.
