National Voter Registration Day total for N.J. was over 4,000

The total number of people who registered to vote in New Jersey on Tuesday, September 20 – National Voter Registration Day – was 4,105, the state Division of Elections said today.

The one-day total includes 3,171 registrations that were processed online and 934 newly-registered voters that either filled out paper registrations and sent them to county election officials or registered to vote at a Motor Vehicle Commission facility.

New Jersey had a net gain of 12,958 new voters in September 2021.

Full registration data for this month will be available early next week.

The deadline to register to vote in the November 8 general election is October 18.   Voters who turn 18 by Election Day may register in advance.
