Republican Jack Ciattarelli has received $3,021,873 so far from the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission.
New Jersey offers a 2-1 match on most contributions of up to $4,900, after the first $156,000 raised.
Both candidates can receive up to $10.5 million but must agree to an expenditure limit of $15.6 million.
Murphy and Ciattarelli qualified for the full match in the primary election.
An independent candidate must raise $490,000 to qualify for matching funds. So far, none of the three independents have done so.
